NAMKHA Tibetan Buddhist method for harmonizing the Five Elements

In Tibetan, the word ནམ་མཁའ་ Namkha means sky or space. It is also an ancient Tibetan practice of weaving a thread-cross of wooden sticks and yarn of 5 colours for a specific purpose. The construction is connected with meditation and the finished Namkha is not just a decoration, but a functional sacred object, empowered by ritual.
As a tool to harmonize the Five Elements, the ancient method of Namkha is especially emerging today to help bring balance into the current worldwide state of chaos and degeneration.
As a dedicated Namkha practitioner, I practice and construct namkhas as a service for the benefit and healing of people and the world.
For me….
Namkha is meditation. As I weave I contemplate the five sacred energies, as personified by the Five Dhyani Buddhas. Keeping my mind clear, I focus on compassion. I watch and learn from the movements of my mind as I go through the moments, hours and days of the creation process.
Namkha is love. I design each namkha with the particular person in mind. My sole aim is to benefit them and the world. The gift of namkha is a gift of love and blessing.
Namkha is unique. Each namkha has been designed and made with the person in mind, making it a very intimate, personal object.
Namkha is sacredA finished namkha is blessed through a tantric ritual whereby the sacred energies are asked to reside in the physical object. Not only do they become remedies that harmonize and support the energies of the person, but ultimately, they have the power to cause one’s enlightenment.
My namkhas are authentic. I have been authorized to perform the Namkha by the great Tibetan master Chogyal Namkhai Norbu. My harmonizing namkhas are made and consecrated according to his method.
Namkha is a tradition. Namkhai Norbu has recently been propagating this 3000-year-old pre-Buddhist tradition of Tibet as a Buddhist practice, putting his terma of Namkha in the hands of his Western students. It’s now up to us to take advantage of this powerful method for bringing sacred balance into our broken modern world, as intended.

Wherever there is space, five elements pervade,
Wherever the five elements, the homes of living beings,
Wherever living beings, karma and defilements,
Wherever is defilement, my compassion also.
Wherever is the need of beings, there I am to help them.
